The Arrival

November 3, 2017

Well, I wouldn't say it was a smooth arrival, but we are all here and together.  I can't even begin to put into words the emotions that I was feeling, leaving California.  It was so hard to leave our community and life in SF/Marin.  The only good thing about leaving, was that we were one step closer to being in our own home and not vagabonding around leaving a trace of all our belongings!!

The flight was the easiest flight we have been on with Ford since he was a baby.  I didn't realize what a difference it would make, having three seats.  We also flew business, which if you have a child under the age of 3, I highly recommend it.  Laying flat, unlimited wine(when your not pregnant), and space.  We had a 4 hour layover in London, popped into every lounge, and kept Moana on repeat to keep us all sane.

While in the passport line, Rasmus strikes up a conversation with a young lady who spoke perfect English.  She was from Iowa and has lived in Denmark for 3 years.  She had wonderful insight on navigating the "system and government."  We then checked into our airbnb in the center of Copenhagen.  We arrived late Thursday night and have been jet lagged ever since.  Today we drove close to the house we bought and attempted to register Ford and Rasmus so we could be seen by a physician and show them my ever growing belly that will need some attention by a medical professional who feels comfortable with a scalpal!!Unfortunately, Denmark can be very square and does not think outside the box.  Because we are not taking ownership until Dec 1st, we can't register until then.

We drove home, frustrated, but came up with a plan B.  We then decided to change address to his parents town which is 45 minutes outside of Copenhagen.  Long day, but we are here.

My entire life I have had a very curious soul who loves to travel, meet amazing people, and experience all that life has to offer.  Little did I know, doing so, while 7 months pregnant, with a two year old, would be the biggest adventure yet.  Here I am today, in Denmark, where I don't speak the language, no longer working, and recreating my inner self.  Follow my blog and daily adventures.
